Despite it's namesake, there were definitely no Qualms with this EP when it landed in our inbox, 4 heavyweight Jungle system wreckers, all with those classic vintage style vocal samples, and enough breaks and 808s to register on the richter scale, we mean really, what's not to love. As such a pioneering genre in the music scene, it's always nice to hear a more modern influence of Jungle, but while sticking within it's roots, and we have to give a hats off to Rafiki Dubs for absolutely nailing this combination of the two. Each of the 4 tracks all manage to bring their own energy and vibe to the table, or should we say speaker, while each sounding significantly different than the last, but still managing to stay within their own realm, so you can tell they're from the same body of work, which isn't the easiest feat to pull off, so again hats off to him for that. If you haven't already heard of Rafiki Dubs, or his label (Nuusic), then it's time for a bit of education, because you are well and truly missing out, and we're not just saying that to be nice, we mean it wholeheartedly. We guess there's only one more thing to say at this point, and that's any Jungle in guy???

well done! pure dope, fantastic output by quartz. metalheadz is such a great label! quartz has his own sound, blacklist fits perfectly to the metalheadz tradition. it is both kind of retro and futuristic. highly recommended, play it loud, the bass kicks:-) that's the way i like it. quartz became quickly my favourite producer in this kind of music. dub orange
